Tour of California.

We have cycling coverage on mainstream cable! Pretty freekin cool if you ask me. Now, for my prediction. I think Tommy D is gonna pull it off, although after today, George would be a safe bet too. I'm just going with Tommy D, cause I always have to root for him. Here is a quick run down of why I'm not sure if I want to be a Tommy D fan anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably always cheer for him, but this is all a little disapointing to me...

First I should show why I liked him to begin with...

But then this happened.

I guess I just hoped to get a little more out of him. If it's not Tom winning California, I hope it's George or Bobby J, but I'll still be cheering for Tom, even after all that has happened.

Corey-
I feel the same as you I'll always have his autograph on my wall, but it's just not like it was. I can't be wicked excited about a guy who "bows down" to someone who he beat by over a minute and a half.

i dont agree with you guys, i think tom is the man. so he has a good friend and mentor who happens to be a 6-time champion...of the tour de france...a decent mentor...

corey and i were there when tom won college MTB a few years ago and if any one of us could be in his spot i know we would....even if he uploaded the ride with lance to the livestrong computer while wearing the livesrong bracelet...hes pro, enough said.

Danny Boy-
I still like Tom, and it isn't the fact that he is hanging out with Lance and getting faster that bothers me. But when he shows up to races with a different bike set up than the rest of his team, and riding special paint job bikes, while saying shimano, trek, or bontrager any time he can I feel that Tommy D has lost some of his roots which is why I thought he was so cool to begin with. He is still wicked fast and will win a grand tour and I'll still be glad to know him, but just more glad to know him when he was on Saturn and Fassa than with Disco.

Don't hate the player,
hate the game.

whoever prospect SD is, you hit the nail on the head. just because he gives all his respect to his mentor whenever due, that doesn't make him different. and as for you scott...i can't wait til the day when you become pro and they REQUIRE you to mention their name in every interview.
